Innovation Meets Impact: How Stanford Research Park Commutes Better
Company: Stanford Research Park
Industry: Technology
About Stanford Research Park
Spanning 700 acres in the heart of Silicon Valley, Stanford Research Park is home to approximately 140 industry-leading companies in tech, life sciences, automotive, legal, financial services, and more.
In 2016, when several tenants asked for help with employee transportation, the Research Park set its sights on a collaborative commuter solution. The Stanford Research Park Transportation program was born, and vanpooling via Commute with Enterprise was soon introduced.
Today, unlike many corporate programs, these vanpools serve the entire business park, providing access to commuters regardless of company size or affiliation. This unique approach aligns well with Stanford Research Park's nearly 75-year history as a destination for companies driving innovation.
Company Objectives
- Address tenant employer requests for commute options
- Increase participation in sustainable commuting modes
- Provide an efficient way for employers to offer commute options to their teams
- Reduce parking demand in Stanford Research Park
- Reduce traffic congestion and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions
